There are several questions we get on a daily basis, and we put together this FAQ page to help answer some of the most common questions we receive. If you don’t find an answer here, feel free to contact us through our contact or Facebook page, and we’ll try to help.

Q: So how does this all work? How do I download and read these books?

A: Every day at Amazon, some authors offer their Kindle books for free. Authors do this to promote their books to a greater audience, and the free period is usually somewhere between one and three days. Each morning we check out the current free offerings at Amazon and choose the best to feature here at eBooksAddict.com.

To get these books for free, you only need to click on the link to “purchase” the book (make sure you double check the price is $0.00 for free book selections), and the book will be automatically downloaded to your Kindle or your Kindle Cloud reader.

Q: Can I download these books to my Nook, Kobo, or other eReader?

A: Unfortunately not, as the files from the Kindle store work only with the Kindle or a Kindle app. However, if you don’t (yet) own a Kindle, don’t despair. There are many free Kindle apps you can use, such as  the free Kindle for PC app, Kindle for iPad, Kindle for iPhone and also the free Kindle cloud reader to read these books as well. Click here to see all the free Kindle reading apps available.

Q: I just clicked on a link and the book is not free! What happened?

A: As we mentioned above, the author sets the time period the book is featured as free at Amazon. Often the books are only available for 24 hours, which is why we suggest your subscribe to our newsletter so that you never miss a book deal.

Q: Help! I accidentally ordered a book that is no longer free. Can you cancel my order?

A: We are not Amazon, we just provide information about free books that are available at Amazon. To cancel your purchase, you will need to go through Amazon directly. However, you should be able to get a refund without too much hassle.

You have the option to cancel a purchase from your Kindle immediately after it was completed in case you change your mind or make a mistake. After you click “Buy” you will see a thank you page that gives you the option to either return to the store or cancel the order. Use the select wheel to cancel the order, if desired. If the option to cancel the order is no longer available, you can also contact Amazon Customer Service via e-mail or phone by clicking one of the Contact Us buttons on any Kindle Support Help page on Amazon.com. After a purchase is cancelled, the item is removed from your Kindle and a refund will be issued to the payment method used for the original purchase.

Q: I can’t figure out how to work my Kindle. Can you help me?

A: Unfortunately, we are not Kindle experts and we suggest you contact Amazon directly about any Kindle related problems. Here is a link: Kindle Support
